ABOUT DENNIS
I grew up in southern California and was heavily involved with music. At UCLA I played French horn in a wind ensemble and keyboard in a rock band, The Sliverbritches...maybe you've heard of us? Probably not. I studied mechanical engineering and squeaked out in 5 years.
I went on to work for Fluor Daniel, an international engineering company based in Orange County, CA. Then I worked for Qwest Communications in Denver, CO, where I fell in love with the mountains.
I then left the engineering field to attend UC Berkeley and earn my MBA. Two events highlighted my time there. One was traveling to Costa Rica to introduce technology to organic coffee farmers in hopes of helping them better manage their plantations. Another was winning the $10,000 Elite Eight Marketing Challenge with my team in which we researched teenagers' opinions on "Go-Gurt" portable yogurt and presented recommendations to its makers.
From Berkeley, I headed south again to get married (my wife's name is also Tara) and take a job with Intrawest in Mammoth Lakes, CA. After six months, I studied for my real estate license and have been practicing real estate full-time ever since. I feel like I found my calling. I love the contact with a broad range of people and helping them find the perfect place to enjoy the mountains.
I am currently involved with Mammoth Christian Fellowship, playing music in the Eastern Sierra Chamber Orchestra and in the Sierra Summer Festival, and tutoring local high school students in math and music. My wife and I enjoy being parents and, when we have time, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, running fishing, mtn biking and playing volleyball with fellow Mammoth locals.
In February 2006 we welcomed Shannon into our family and in August 2007 we welcomed Catherine into our family.

ABOUT TARA
I was born and raised in what used to be a "small town" in Southern California called Mission Viejo. Life was all about swimming for the Nadadores back then. In 1972, my family made its first trip to Mammoth and the love affair began. Ever since then, Mammoth and the Eastern Sierra has been my home away from home. I finally decided to make it my real home when I moved here after college in January of 1993.
Mammoth almost became my home in 1987, when I had threatened to come up and be a "ski bum" just for one season after high school.Instead, I ended up spending those ten months working for a company in Grenoble, France.Upon my return, I immediately started working on my French degree (with business emphasis) at UCLA. A couple of years into my education I decided that I really wanted to go towards the health field and subsequently changed my major to Kinesiology. My journey at UCLA came to an end in December of 1992, when I finally finished with Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. All through college, Mammoth was still that home away from home, and being on the UCLA ski team made it that much easier to find reasons to come to Mammoth!
Straight out of college, I was set on finally living the dream of living in Mammoth. After a number of jobs including driving shuttle buses, selling coffee and bartending for about five years, I eventually made my way into the real estate business when I started working for Intrawest in the beginning of 1998. Wanting to be able to serve all of my clients completely, I parted from Intrawest in 2001 in order to further my career at RE/MAX of Mammoth.
Practicing real estate here in Mammoth has given me the opportunity to do everything I like in a place I love, all the while meeting wonderful people. Mammoth has no shortage of recreational possibilities to offer and this, combined with the amazing beauty of this area, is what has drawn and kept me here. I have made Mammoth my home and now it is the home of my family as well. I look forward to getting my daughter on skis as soon as she's ready!
It has brought me pleasure over the years to help other families and individuals find their "home" up here in the beautiful Sierras and I look forward to being able to do that for you.
